The Citroen DS was launched in October 1955 at the Paris Motor Show. It was an instant success with 12,000 orders being taken on the first day. It was the first mass-production car with front power disc brakes. It also featured independent hydropneumatic suspension including an automatic self-levelling system and variable ground clearance and power steering.

The DS23 EFI Pallas was introduced 1973 and was powered by a 2347cc engine which produced 141 bhp propelling the car to top speed of 122mph. The DS further cemented its capabilities by winning the gruelling 1974 London-Sahara-Munich Rally where it won over 70 other cars with its ability to sustain high speeds over poor surfaces. It was also named the most beautiful car of all time by Classic & Sports Car magazine after a poll of 20 world-renowned car designers.

The Citroen DS23 EFI Pallas offered here at Autostorico was manufactured in 1973 and is finished in Black with Black leather interior trim. This example was sourced for a Citroen enthusiast, from the South of France who had been searching for an original car with little corrosion. He undertook a full body restoration along with a mechanical overhaul. Other notable works included fitting a new Webasto sunroof along with new carpets. The car was then registered to his UK address in 2017 before returning to his French property.

Passing to its current owner in 2022 this stunning example has continued to lead a pampered life having just returned from Andrew Brodie Engineering Ltd, who carried out a full service including a brake overhaul and new fuel lines.

This is a perfect opportunity to own the very sought-after Citroen DS23 EFI Pallas that is a joy to drive and will only appreciate further over time.
