In 1966 werd de Giulia Sprint GT vervangen door de Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT Veloce, die erg op elkaar leek, maar met veel verbeteringen: een verbeterde motor - iets krachtiger en met meer koppel - betere interieur- en exterieurveranderingen. Samen met de nieuwe 1750 Spider Veloce met een opnieuw ontworpen motor, werd de Sprint GT Veloce in maart 1966 gelanceerd op de 36e Autosalon van Genève. Hoewel de vervanger van de Sprint GT Veloce, de 1750 GT Veloce, in 1967 werd geïntroduceerd, ging de productie het hele jaar door en in 1968 waren de dertig laatste auto's klaar. Tegen die tijd bedroeg de totale productie van de Giulia Sprint GT Veloce 14.240 exemplaren.
Het gaat hier om een zeer nette Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT Veloce 1600 die voor het eerst op 2 Januari 1967 in Italië werd geregistreerd. Hier heeft hij het grootste deel van zijn leven doorgebracht. In de map met historie die bij de auto zit hebben wij zelfs nog het originele kenteken die in Verona is afgegeven. Bijzonder is dat de betaalde wegenbelasting stempels en plakstickers vanaf het begin er nog in zitten. Dit komt samen met oude Italiaanse registratiepapieren. Toen de restauratie voltooid was werd hij op 27 juli 2022 voor het eerst op Nederlands kenteken geregistreerd.
Deze zeldzame Veloce is recent volledig gerestaureerd. Alfa Romeo specialist 'Berfelo Italian Car Service Goesbeek' heeft hem tot in de laatste detail afgemaakt. Hij is uitgevoerd in Alfa Romeo 'Azzurro Spazio' blauw met zijn originele zwarte bekleding, welke in zeer goede staat is. Uniek aan dit model zijn onder anderen de kuipstoelen, RVS bumpers, de grille en het speciale dashboard. Onderaan de auto zijn er de originele 15 inch Alfa Romeo velgen te vinden met bijbehorende wieldoppen. De RVS bumpers en sierlijsten rondom de auto zijn erg netjes en maken het uiterlijk compleet. Het interieur is tijdloos met het mooie dashboard & stuur, de witte hemelbekleding en de grijze tapijten.
Ook het motorblok bij een Veloce is anders. Het betreft een 00536 Veloce motor. Deze bestaat uit een cilinder inhoud van 1.570cc en 4-cilinders. Hij was voorzien van wijzigingen ten opzichte van het type 00502 van de Giulia Sprint GT, zoals uitlaatkleppen met een grotere diameter (37 mm in plaats van 35 mm). Dit resulteerde in 125pk op 6.000 toeren. Hiernaast is hij ook voorzien van 2 Weber carburateurs. Dit is allemaal in combinatie met de handmatige 5-versnellingsbak. Hij schakelt soepel en rijdt als een zonnetje.
Dit is één van de meest begeerde Alfa Romeo's. Deze Veloce is met oog voor detail geprepareerd voor nieuwe avonturen!

In 1966, the Giulia Sprint GT was replaced by the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT Veloce, which was very similar, but with many improvements: an improved engine - slightly more powerful and with more torque - better interior and exterior changes. Together with the new 1750 Spider Veloce with a redesigned engine, the Sprint GT Veloce was launched at the 36th Geneva Motor Show in March 1966. Although the Sprint GT Veloce's replacement, the 1750 GT Veloce, was introduced in 1967, production continued throughout the year and in 1968 the last 30 cars were completed. By then, total production of the Giulia Sprint GT Veloce reached 14,240 units.
This is a very neat Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT Veloce 1600 that was first registered in Italy on 2 January 1967. This is where it spent most of its life. In the history folder that comes with the car, we even have the original registration number issued in Verona. Remarkably, the paid road tax stamps and stickers from the beginning are still in it. This comes along with old Italian registration papers. When the restoration was completed, it was registered for the first time on Dutch registration papers on 27 July 2022.
This rare Veloce was recently fully restored. Alfa Romeo specialist 'Berfelo Italian Car Service Goesbeek' finished it down to the last detail. It is finished in Alfa Romeo 'Azzurro Spazio' blue with its original black upholstery, which is in very good condition. Unique features of this model include the bucket seats, stainless steel bumpers, the grille and the special dashboard. At the bottom of the car there are the original 15-inch Alfa Romeo rims with matching hubcaps. The stainless steel bumpers and trims around the car are very neat and complete the look. The interior is timeless with the beautiful dashboard & steering wheel, white headlining and grey carpets.
The engine block on a Veloce is also different. It is a 00536 Veloce engine. It consists of a cylinder capacity of 1,570cc and 4-cylinders. It featured modifications compared to the 00502 type of the Giulia Sprint GT, such as larger-diameter exhaust valves (37 mm instead of 35 mm). This resulted in 125hp at 6,000 rpm. On top of this, it was also fitted with 2 Weber carburettors. This is all combined with the 5-speed manual gearbox. It shifts smoothly and drives like a breeze.
This is one of the most desirable Alfa Romeo's. This Veloce has been prepared with an eye for detail for new adventures!
