Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 Flat Floor

First registered in the United States in January 1962 this Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 Fixed Head Coupé is one of the last five “Flat-Floor” cars that were manufactured in 1961. Repatriated in 1990 the car was dry stored for some years before re-commissioning and converting to Right Hand Drive between 2005 and 2008. Sporting its original colours of Opalescent Silver Blue with Red Leather this superb and competitively priced example has been greatly improved by the most recent Engineer owner, (since 2016) who is only selling to make way for his other E-Type which he plans to bring up to equivalent standard.
Headline improvements to this E-Type include: fully rebuilt engine by Bill Rawles, installation of Fabs E-Type 5 Speed gearbox, (the Moss 4 Speed gearbox removed from the car will remain with the car, as a spare, should the next owner wish). Rebuilt suspension and upgraded brakes. Between, 2017 and now it is probably fair for us to say that every mechanical item on this car has been removed, inspected, rebuilt or replaced. All the works undertaken by the most recent owner are recorded in a detailed manner and a prospective purchaser will be re-assured by the meticulous records that have been kept; however, these are too substantial to relate verbatim here. Total expenditure over this period amounts to almost £45,000.
The result, a fast and reliable car that is very beautiful and with the modern improvements described it drives, in our view, very much better than a factory fresh example.
