Normally speaking Hawk Classics doesn't stray north of the 70s, however this car was taken in as a favour and it didn't feel right to let it go back out in a less than excellent condition.

While mechanically sound and running beautifully, the body and chassis was badly corroded and required extensive welding and complete re-paint. The result is a stunning little thing, which looks the way it should have done from the factory.

Refreshing Something Unique!

The Cappuccino was taken in as a favour, looking rather sorry for itself and hiding an emense amount of corrosion, which is sadly the norm for these little beasties.

Once the interior, wheels and bumpers were removed, the extent of the rot was clear and much worse than had been anticipated. It was in all the usual areas, the floor pan, wheel arches and sills etc., which needed cutting right back and new metalwork woven in.

By far the lenthiest part of this small project, the somewhat extensive welding has given this car a new lease of life.

The paintwork had suffered from surface corrosion, light collision damage as well as sun bleaching and blistering, all in all, every panel needed attention.

Some panel repair was needed to resolve the surface condition, but a full repaint was the only way forward to restore the body and in the original, stunning red, in the sun, this car positively glows.

The engine is typical Suzuki, even after 26 years it purs and pulls strongly for a little 800cc 3 cylinder turbo unit; it has been well looked after and runs as well now as it did when it was first on the road.

The interior is good, while not perfect, showing a few cosmetic scratches on some of the lower plastic panels, the seats, dash and controls are in excellent condition and make for a lovely place to be.
