This 1961 Jaguar MK2 3.8 has just emerged from a long restoration which has involved a complete body strip down and refurbishment along with an engine rebuild and new interior. The restoration is so fresh from completion that car is still being run in. The car presents exceptionally well as the photographs will demonstrate and it is now ready for a new custodian.
The refurbishment of the body has included the replacement or repair of many panels whilst the engine has been treated to a £10,000 rebuild at Connaught Competition Engines. The interior has been subjected to a complete refurbishment with fresh leather whist the wood has been restored to a very high standard indeed. The interior of the car is superb.
The car remains in its original colour of Carmen Red. The heritage certificate on file also confirms that that this is a matching numbers manual with overdrive car. Looking at the history file it appears to have had just three registered keepers. The car was in a barn find state in 2015 when it was bought by the current custodian who set about having the car fully restored to the condition it is in today.
The history file contains the heritage certificate, miscellaneous invoices relating to the restoration, a period Jaguar MK2 catalogue and operating maintenance book. There are also a lot of photographs of the restoration. There is also a full original tool kit.
This MK2 has had an awful lot of money spent on it and is now ready to be run in and used by its next custodian. Offers are invited.
